Day 7 - where did day 8 go?

If you are looking for day 8, you can stop, it got away from me!  Yesterday was a bit wet, not only that, it was the Heaton Churches Partnership Fun Day in Thornfield Park & I help run the St Thomas Stall.  This event has always been on a Sunday, but in the same way the Heatons Traders event was on a Saturday, they found people running it were a bit busy on Sunday, so they changed it to Saturday, funny we changed to Sunday for exactly the same reason.

At one o'clock the rain was falling (stairrods), the wind was blowing (a gale) & we were all hanging onto the gazebos & marquees.  A short prayer & some hymn singing later & the sun came out & shone. Pity it then kept up a running battle with the rain all afternoon, it was a draw as far as the weather was concerned, but  the crowds that turned up were winners.  It bodes well for next week, even if it rains (again!) The attitude to rain in Stockport never ceases to amaze me.

The day also gave me the chance to "network" not something I do well or willingly, with various groups & people who will be joining us next week.  I now know I will have enough help for the Fun Stalls & that the Sustainable Living in the Heatons have over 50 entries for their Bike Ride.  Should be a fabulous parade when they return at 12 noon.  We have a little surprise for all the children taking part in the Bike Ride, but that's a secret.

It had been my intention to do yesterday's blog when I ame back from Thornfield Park, but we went to a Wedding Reception in the evening & I find it takes me much longer to get ready now than it used to, so just as I sat down to write the blog David said it was time to go.  So, sorry Day  Eight went awol, but back on track now & lots to do tomorrow.
