9 days - And the food is courtesy of....
A bit late today, I have been out to a tea party, courtesy of Time for Tea, a joint venture between Pebble Weddings & Pixie Bakeries. Pixie is of course one of the food stalls at the Summer Festival & she makes a mean bun. I think I had a few too many, the choux pastry was delicious & I am an expert on eclairs, (eating not making). Joining her this year are Kro & Yeti's Retreat, who are going to do a barbecue Tibetan style. Along side will be Marmaris & this year, for the first time, Kushoom Koly is joining us. Quite a treat.
The bunting & balloons are organised, so the Park will look festive & today I have had three more volunteers come forward. We are getting there. Closing day for commercial stalls is NOW, if you have not booked your stall by today, Friday 29th June, it's too late.
We are now starting to tweak the programme, move things back & forth by ten, twenty minutes, so that you can fit as much in as possible. Cheshire Falcons are coming again & they are such a draw we have to fit things round them. The Sustainable Living in the Heatons Bike Ride is due to finish at the Park at 12 noon & then shortly after the Falcon & other birds of prey will be on display.
As well as the raffle & tombolas (tombolae?) I have already mentioned there will be a lowest unique bid auction & possibly another auction, but we are still discussing that. One of the things to be sorted is if we do do that, who will run it? I am running out of bodies. For now, it is a possible, more news next week, we will have to see how it develops.
