Day 21 - 2 Thanksgiving services & lots of discussions about a Festival

June 17th has been Thanksgiving Day in Stockport, two services in one day to celebrate the Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth.  We went to the first one at St Thomas, followed by a bring & share lunch, it was raining when we arrived, but quite nice when we finally left at 2 pm.  Lots of little discussions about the Festival, emergency facepainters recruited & told they are on standby.  Then suddenly glorious weather & off to St Elizabeth's with Amanda from Pixie Bakeries & Colin from Utility Warehouse to represent 4HTA at the Civic Service.

We were joined by the Lady Mayor & Mayoress, (love the red cape, flash chain & tricorn hat, I want one! [cape that is]) the Lord Lieutenant of Greater Manchester & three bishops.  The one thing you can say about the bishops of Greater Manchester, they are fun; I have seen one racing small children down the aisle of a church & now, one dressed in women's hats from the last 60 years.  Who says Church is boring?  The service having finished, it was down to the serious business, eating cake, drinking coffee & discussing the Festival with the local CSPO's who turn up every year & keep order.

Now, to put my feet up & prepare for Tuesday, lots of meetings day & evening & hopefully the plan of the park to finalize.
