The Heatons Summer Festival 2012 will provide the opportunity for all the enthusiastic home bakers in the Heatons to show off their skills.

So dust off your cookery books, dig out those aprons and share your family favourites.

Decide which category you wish to enter (or all of them):

1. Baked savoury item.
2. Tea-time treats eg cupcake, brownie, flapjack
3. Decorated celebration cake
4. Childrens’ free choice

The theme for all classes is ‘Best of British’, a chance to celebrate what we love about being British, be it the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the 2012 Olympics or delicious fresh strawberries!

Entries must be set up ready for judging by the appointed time on Sunday 8^th July.  Entries will be judged by a panel of invited judges (who will they be? Follow @heatonscakes on twitter for news).  Fingers crossed Mary Berry is available.

Throughout the day there will also (hopefully) be live demonstrations from experts in baking and cake decorating.
