Sing Songs are spreading!

Last night we attended the Farewell Service in Manchester Cathedral for Bishop Nigel, who is retiring, it was a lovely, funny & moving service, but that's not why I am blogging.  On our way into the Cathedral I could not help but see a notice advertising a Christmas Sing Song in Manchester Cathedral, talk about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery.  Our's comes first.  This Saturday 1st December, 5 pm. inside St Thomas, Buckingham Road, (it's got a roof, so no rain this year) following on from the Christmas Market.

Goodies, prezzies & Christmas Cards

The list of stalls for the Saturday afternoon market in and around St Thomas  Heaton Chapel is starting to look  really exciting,  you will be able to purchase all your Christmas cards, both to support charities & lovely handmade ones, buy all your presents, toys, jewellery, toiletries & lots of other goodies, eat Pixie Bakery's delicious cakes, (if she brings choux buns you will have to fight me for them) & all the while be serenaded by Alligator Music.

Heaton Chapel Christmas Kick Off continued

So the Christmas Market around the Church will start at 3 pm, inside the Chuch we will have a couple of stalls, including Pick a Pot n Paint, who will be helping you all paint your own tree decorations.  Food & drink will be availble courtesy of Littlewoods & the Ladies from Heatons Fundrasing Group on behalf of Cancer Research.

Father Christmas is due to arrive at 4.30 pm & the Sing Song will start at 5 pm.  Inside out of the rain or snow or hail or anything else the great British weather attempts to throw at us.

My Number 1 Twitter Tip for New Users

Every month, I co-host a Social Media workshop for the members of the Four Heatons Traders Association. The idea of the workshop is to help local businesses use Twitter and Facebook for their business - that doesn't mean showing them how to flood their Social Media accounts with adverts. Quite the contrary! The idea of Social Media is to be social. It's a new way to interact with your customers, potential customers, associates and friends.

Feathers And Dusters Meet Taekwondo Olympian

Hello Again,

The owner of Feathers And Dusters, Sharon Russell (that's me!), was lucky enough to have had the privilege of meeting Team GB Taekwondo Olympic Gold Medallist, Jade Jones, and also a Team GB Taekwondo Olympic Bronze Medallist, recently. I was taking my daughter to an event at Greater Manchester Sports - my daughter was invited because she is an up and coming tennis player. We were also fortunate to see some young future sports stars competing, and we hope to see them in action at the next Olympics in Rio in 2016!!

Some More Information About Feather And Dusters

Hi Everyone,

We are also delighted to be associated with Age UK - we are proud to be at the top of their list of recommended cleaning and home help providers.

£1.5 Million House Cleaned!

Hi, very first blog, so here we go!

Dis-Like in the next 3 seconds or else: the danger's of being trigger happy with the Like button

If you're on Facebook, you will have seen them: unsolicited posts saying "like in 3 seconds and watch what happens" or "like if you think cruelty to children is wrong" or some other compelling reason why you should join the tens-of-thousands of people who have Liked before you. The post always comes complete with an intriguing photo or a disturbing one of a child in distress. But before you go ahead and press "Like", either out of intrigue or an emotion of compassion/anger/sadness, you should STOP and THINK about exactly what you are Liking.
